1,000,000 Video Views!

I just wanted to write a quick post to thank everyone that’s been a part of Unique Apps.

Last night we achieved an awesome milestone… 1,000,000 video views on our Youtube channel!

It’s crazy actually, because at this time last year, Unique Apps wasn’t even idea yet… I actually started the company (and youtube channel) on January 3, 2009.

It just goes to show that anything is possible if you want it bad enough.

I want to encourage EVERYONE that’s reading this right now to take action on that idea you have sitting in the back of your head right now.

You know the one I’m talking about … the one that you’ve been putting off for SO long because you don’t have the time, or the money, or the talent … or any other excuse in the book.

At this time last year, I knew nothing about iPhone apps, but I had a desire to develop them.

It’s been about 10 months, and I now have a team of OUTSTANDING coders working with me from around the world, our apps have been downloaded THOUSANDS of times, and we’re building one of the most close-knit communities I’ve ever been a part of. (I love everyone of you btw)

Unique Apps is starting to become a big player in the iPhone app market, and it all started with an idea.

Sure … I had A LOT of excuses of why Unique Apps wouldn’t work. (How competitive this market is, the money and time it takes to develop an app, the market research and analytics that goes into a successful app … the list goes on and on).

BUT … I didn’t think about ANY of those excuses when I started Unique Apps.

I told myself I was going to build a successful iPhone application development company … and that’s EXACTLY what I’m doing.

Do we still have a LONG road ahead of us… Sure!

Is this one of the toughest ventures I’ve ever done in my life … You Bet!

But am I having more fun, and enjoying life SO MUCH MORE because I’m doing EXACTLY what I want to be doing … Absolutely YES!

I’m going to try and not ramble on any longer, but I just wish I could reach through this screen and talk with you right now, and hear your ideas.

I also am not trying IN ANY WAY to brag or boast about my accomplishments. I’m very thankful for what I’ve achieved thus far, but please don’t take this post as arrogance … that’s not what I’m trying to say …

It’s just… if you’re not doing what you really want right now, then you’re really missing out on life … on what you *could* be … Take a few steps back, and evaluate your life.

This doesn’t have to be a hard task … just answer a couple questions right now…

What is it that you really want?

What would ultimately make you happy?

If you’re not doing what you want to be doing right now … what is it you want to be doing?

They’re not really hard questions to answer, but you’re never going to find true joy or happiness in your life if you don’t first identify what will give it to you …

Find answers to those questions, and maybe a few more personal ones, and start taking ACTION to make it happen.

I’m not saying to quit your job tomorrow, or to disregard everything you have in your life right now to make it happen, but start taking steps in that direction.

Don’t wait until your New Year’s Resolution to start it … START RIGHT NOW!

OK … I think I’ve rambled on enough in this post, so I’m going to try to cut it off.

I’m just so PASSIONATE about doing what makes me happy in life.

You know … I wasn’t raised in a rich family, nor did I have anything given to me on a silver platter.

Some people think that I actually grew up on computers, and MAN … is that SO FAR from the truth. (I actually didn’t even get my first email account until I was in college)

But that’s besides the point.

What I’m trying to say is that I had the odds stacked against me. The ONLY thing I had is my desire to succeed… that’s one of the only things that keeps me going today.

I’ve FAILED a lot in business, but every time I get knocked down … I get back up. I refuse to settle for less, and hopefully (if you don’t have it already) you will get that desire soon.

That’s where it all starts … the desire for something.

Everything in life starts with an idea … the automobile, the personal computer, the iPhone … they were all just ideas at one point in time.

So … take that idea you have right now, and start putting it into action.

Heck … who knows … maybe the next Warren Buffett, Steve Jobs, or Bill Gates is reading this post right now. (if that’s the case … I take cash, credit, or check …)

Totally kidding, but in all seriousness … let’s just make it happen!

Let’s get out there and do what we really want to be doing.

Quit settling for what life has given you, and get out there and create the life you want.

The most difficult thing as you’ve rightly hinted is to get out there and make that idea we all have a reality through mainly fear of the unknown or distractions.

-OK dude… this is weird. I was just watching my VERY first ever UniqueApps video on Youtube, after leaving you that last comment, when I notice you seem to be buds with Eric Farewell. I just met Eric and his lovely new bride in San Antonio like two weeks ago from tomorrow. I was hang’n out with him Sat. night at the Crown Plaza down there, and in fact just got an email from him yesterday. Pat said magical things happen at his events, but this is pretty trippy.
